BANGKOK, Thailand – A pickup truck sideswiped two motorcycles on the Kaset intersection flyover in Bangkok, causing one rider to fall off the bridge and suffer serious injuries. The incident occurred on Phahonyothin Road in the Lat Yao subdistrict of Bang Khen district.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jatupong Art-harn from Bang Khen Police Station responded to the accident report. Upon arrival, officers found two injured individuals — a man with a broken arm and back injuries, and a woman who suffered a split chin and minor leg wounds. Both were promptly taken to Paolo Kaset Hospital for treatment.

According to a good Samaritan who witnessed the incident, a pickup truck veered into the left lane on the overpass, colliding with two motorcycles. One male rider was thrown over the bridge, crashing onto the road below. Fortunately, both victims were wearing helmets, which likely saved their lives.

Police Colonel Suphon Khamchu, Deputy Chief of Metropolitan Police Division 2, confirmed that alcohol was not a factor — the pickup driver tested negative. Investigators are still interviewing the driver and reviewing the evidence to determine exact charges, but initial findings confirm that the truck did indeed sideswipe the motorbikes.
