PHUKET, Thailand – If you are searching for a tranquil and romantic location to watch the sunset in Phuket, the Windmill Viewpoint is your perfect answer. This breathtaking hilltop escape is quickly becoming the island’s must-visit destination for travelers chasing that unforgettable evening glow.

Scenic spots in Phuket continue to draw attention, especially the Windmill Viewpoint. Located on a hilltop between Nai Harn Beach and Ya Nui Beach in Rawai Subdistrict, Mueang District, the site sits within the Promthep Alternative Energy Station, managed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

The highlight of this location is its sweeping panoramic scenery. Visitors can see Promthep Cape and Nai Harn Bay, all framed by a large white windmill that serves as the landmark’s centerpiece, giving the area a picturesque, almost Mediterranean feel.

Besides being a romantic spot for photography and sunset viewing, the viewpoint is also a gathering place for extreme sports enthusiasts. On clear days, visitors come for paragliding, adding vibrant colors to the sky above Ya Nui Beach.

The Windmill Viewpoint is open to the public free of charge daily from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Parking is available, but motorists should exercise caution because the access road is steep and narrow.

The most popular time to visit is late afternoon, just before dusk. The golden hour casts a stunning reflection on the sea, contrasting with the surrounding mountains and lush green grass. Looking down, visitors are treated to spectacular views of Ya Nui Beach and rows of yachts anchored in the bay, creating a world-class coastal landscape. (NNT)
