Prime Minister Paetongtarn confirms that Phase 3 of the economic stimulus program, which includes 10,000 baht payments for young individuals, is still being reviewed with input from key agencies and stakeholders. A final decision is pending amid global economic uncertainty.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has confirmed that Phase 3 of the government’s economic stimulus program, which proposes a 10,000 baht payment for individuals aged 16 to 20, has not yet been brought before the Cabinet for consideration. Following the weekly Cabinet meeting, she stated that the proposal remains under review while input is still being gathered from key agencies, amid continued global economic uncertainty.

Organizations such as the National Economic and Social Development Council and the Bank of Thailand have already submitted their feedback. The government is also consulting stakeholders across the public and private sectors to evaluate the need for additional economic support, the appropriate timing, and the likely impact of moving forward with the next stage of the Digital Wallet scheme.

While the goal of the program is to stimulate economic activity, the Prime Minister stressed that any final decision must reflect a broad range of perspectives. Deliberations are ongoing to determine how the scheme can provide effective and equitable benefits to the population.

In response to public concern, the Prime Minister called for patience as the government weighs domestic and international factors. A decision on whether to proceed or delay the rollout will be made once all input has been received. For now, the proposal remains under active consideration, with no set timeline for implementation.
