Over 3,000 attendees expected to join ‘74th FIFA Congress’ at QSNCC in Bangkok May 13-17

Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol and other officials have stressed the importance of thorough preparation across all sectors, involving visa and travel arrangements, security measures, and close cooperation among all organizations to facilitate a seamless event.

Thailand is gearing up to host the 74th FIFA Congress, marking the first time the event is held in an ASEAN country. The congress is scheduled from May 13 to 17 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok.

In preparation for this prestigious event, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has called on all relevant organizations, including the security sector, the Tourism and Sports Ministry, the National Sports Authority of Thailand, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to collaborate and ensure the congress’s success.



Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol and other officials have stressed the importance of thorough preparation across all sectors, involving visa and travel arrangements, security measures, and close cooperation among all organizations to facilitate a seamless event. The congress will see the participation of the International Football Federation’s president, members, and representatives, including renowned football players from 211 member nations.



Nualphan Lamsam, the newly elected president of the Football Association of Thailand, expressed her appreciation for the government’s backing and highlighted the congress’s importance as a significant off-field event organized by FIFA. She pointed out the potential to enhance the domestic economy, with over 3,000 attendees expected to make contributions through accommodations and tourism.

The previous congress in Rwanda garnered over 2 billion online followers and media coverage from more than 180 countries. (NNT)
