Outgoing Singaporean ambassador meets with PM

Bangkok – Singapore’s Ambassador to Thailand Chua Siew San made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha this week upon the end of her mission in Thailand and discussed bilateral cooperation and investments in the Eastern Economic Corridor project.

The outgoing Singaporean ambassador met with the premier at Government House before her departure from Thailand.

The premier thanked the outgoing Singaporean envoy for the accommodations provided for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s visit to Singapore to attend the opening ceremony of Global Young Scientists Summit 2019 in January.

The ambassador praised HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her accomplishments and contributions to educational development among Thai youths.

The premier expressed his admiration for Singapore’s success in human resources development, including the development of modern and high-quality education curriculum, adding that Thailand wishes to extend educational cooperation with Singapore, and welcome the opening of international schools in Thailand providing Singaporean curriculum which provide more options and opportunities for Thai students.

He thanked the outgoing ambassador for promoting bilateral relations, as Singapore remains the top investors from ASEAN in Thailand, and is one of major export markets for Thai businesses. He confirmed that Thailand is willing to continue providing support for Singaporean investments in this country, especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project. He also thanked Singapore for being a key driving force behind the expansion of start-up businesses in the Southeast Asia region.
