New Khon Kaen–Vientiane bus route launches to boost cross-border travel and tourism

The new Khon Kaen–Vientiane international bus service offers two daily round trips for convenient cross-border travel.

KHON KAEN, Thailand – The Transport Company (Bor.Kor.Sor.) has officially launched its new international bus route between Khon Kaen and Vientiane, offering a faster, safer, and more convenient travel option for passengers crossing between Thailand and Laos.

The Route No. 5: Khon Kaen–Vientiane spans 194 kilometers with a travel time of about four hours. Fares are set at 180 baht per person, using 42-seat air-conditioned coaches. The service operates two daily round trips:

Departing Khon Kaen at 8:15 a.m.
Departing Vientiane at 2:45 p.m.

On the Lao side, minibuses with up to 25 seats are also operating on the same route, departing Vientiane at 8:15 a.m. and returning from Khon Kaen at 3:00 p.m.

The new cross-border service aims to strengthen tourism and trade, supporting economic links between Thailand and Laos, while providing travelers with reliable, affordable public transportation during the high tourism season.
