The Royal Thai Navy has safely brought home 28 Thai nationals rescued from cyber-scam networks in Cambodia, warning that transnational fraud and human trafficking syndicates remain an ongoing global threat.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Navy has repatriated 28 Thai nationals following their release from cyber-scam operations in Cambodia, warning that transnational fraud networks remain active and continue to pose risks worldwide.

Rear Admiral Parat Rattanachaiphan, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, said the group had sought assistance through the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh after being detained and exploited by scam syndicates operating in several locations across Cambodia. The return operation was conducted by the Chanthaburi–Trat Border Defense Command via the Chanthaburi Marine Task Force.

The individuals reentered Thailand via the Ban Phakkat Permanent Border Crossing in Chanthaburi province. Officials confirmed that all returnees were safe and are undergoing standard immigration screening and legal procedures.

Officials said the case highlights the ongoing presence of cyber-scam networks in Cambodia, tied to human trafficking and technology-driven fraud that cause extensive cross-border financial losses.  The Navy said it will continue coordinating with domestic agencies and international partners to curb transnational crime and seek accountability for actions that endanger public safety.
