NARATHIWAT – The Narathiwat Provincial Culture Office has organized a seminar to promote the use of local wisdoms in producing goods with Thai identities for ASEAN markets.

Taking part in the seminar were 86 Small and Medium Enterprise manufacturers as well as OTOP operators in the province. These entrepreneurs are producers of traditional fabrics, miniature drums, basketry handicrafts, and decorative daggers.

The participants were to learn more about how to introduce their crafts to markets in the ASEAN Community and ways to improve their manufacturing process. The seminar constituted a way to ensure that community-based products would generate substantial income to locals as well as the Kingdom on a sustainable basis.

The event included a talk to promote local wisdoms in producing cultural goods on a commercial scale, and also discussions on merchandise demand and product development. The attendees were also awarded with certificates upon the completion of the event.
