BANGKOK, 17 April 2015 – The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is expected to file a lawsuit against private companies involved in the allegedly corrupt government-to-government (G2G) rice scheme.

NACC member Vicha Mahakhun has revealed that as many as 20 companies were found to have conspired to take advantage of the G2G rice scheme.

Nearly 100 companies were alleged to be involved in the former government’s rice program that sold the grains to foreign governments.

The NACC is currently gathering more evidence before filing the case at the Criminal Division for Political Office Holders of the Supreme Court. Mr. Vicha said the lawsuit will be filed soon to leave enough time for the court to consider before the first hearing is open.
