Mukdahan Governor provides housing for the poor


MUKDAHAN, 23 April 2014 – The Mukdahan Governor has carried out measures to provide proper housing for the poor in accordance with the local government’s policy to help those in need.

Mukdahan Governor Sakolkrit Boonpradit, along with President of the Thai Red Cross Society Suthida Boonpradit, traveled to the residence of Ms. Boonlert, a local Mukadahan citizen living in very poor conditions.

The group of officials made donations to Ms. Boonlert in an effort to assist in her basic needs and provided her with food, medicine, and a home to allow her better living conditions.

Ms. Boonlert is currently 69 years-old and is no longer able to work due to her age. Her home comprises of 5 family members: one daughter who suffers from diabetes, 3 other grandchildren, and herself. The family currently lives in an old decrepit house with very poor living standards.

The donation of a new home to Ms. Boonlert is part of the local government’s way of helping and assisting those in dire need for better living conditions. The total budget used in the donation was 50,000 baht.
