Bangkok’s MRT trains on all four lines will run until 2:00 a.m. on December 31, 2025, as the Ministry of Transport and the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand extend services and keep stations and park-and-ride facilities open later to accommodate New Year celebrations.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Transport, working with the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, has announced extended MRT operating hours on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, to support holiday travel. All four MRT lines will operate until 2:00 a.m., allowing passengers extra time to return home after celebrations.

Station buildings and park-and-ride facilities will also remain open later than usual to handle higher passenger volumes. The extended service is intended to reduce traffic congestion and encourage the use of public transport over private vehicles.

Transport authorities said the move supports safe, orderly, and convenient travel during the holiday period, helping residents and visitors move around the city smoothly as the New Year begins. (NNT)
