BANGKOK, Thailand – The Geohazard Operations Center has reported that a magnitude 7.4 undersea earthquake occurred off the coast of Indonesia this morning (Apr 2), with no impact on Thailand.
The quake struck at a depth of 35 kilometers, with its epicenter located about 126 kilometers west-northwest of Ternate City. A tsunami warning was issued based on assessments by the Thai Meteorological Department and the United States Geological Survey.
Authorities said there have been no reports of damage and confirmed that the situation poses no threat to Thailand, with further updates to be provided as more information becomes available. (NNT)
