Labor Ministry to create more jobs for the disabled


BANGKOK – The Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security plan to collect information about disabled people’s demands for careers nationwide.

The Ministry of Labor has named 2016 the year of disabilities while at least 10,000 handicapped people nationwide are expected to have careers with steady incomes.

Thailand has won eight medals from the ninth Abilympics handicapped skills competition. The Department of Skills Development (DSD) Director-General Kreeta Sopchoak said he was satisfied with the outcome while the agency is now seeking jobs for the unemployed contestants.
