Jurassic World: Rebirth generates 400 million baht boost for Thailand, showcases southern scenery ahead of 2025 release

BANGKOK, Thailand – According to the Thailand Film Office (TFO), many scenes in the upcoming film Jurassic World: Rebirth were filmed in Krabi, Phang Nga, and Trang provinces, taking place during one month last year, generating more than 400 million baht (12 million USD) for Thailand’s economy. The production also created over 2,245 jobs, benefiting communities and the nation.



Its investment has been distributed among various sectors, ranging from behind-the-scene crews to local service providers, as follows:

– 34% for Thai crew payment;
– 22.5% for accommodation;
– 19% for filming equipment rental;
– 9.5% for filming location rental;
– 7% for transportation rental;
– 5.5% for office rental/ medical service;
– 2.5% for food and beverage.


The TFO offers incentive measures for foreign film productions, including a cash rebate of up to 30%. This initiative not only generates income for Thailand but also creates jobs for personnel in the Thai film industry and enhances the country’s reputation as a global film production destination.

Jurassic World Rebirth is scheduled for release on 2 July 2025 and is expected to further boost Thailand’s appeal as a tourist destination, showcasing the country’s natural beauty to a global audience. (PRD)
