BANGKOK, 21 March 2013 The Department of Special Investigation revealed it has found irregularities in the bank account of the construction company at the focal point of the scandal of abandoned police station buildings.

After scrutinizing the bank accounts of PCC Development and Construction Ltd, the DSI found multiple use of falsified documents in an account opened with a Government Savings Bank branch in Chiang Mai province. An amount of money the company received from the construction contract with the national police was also transferred from this account to a subsidiary company. Investigators believe PCC did not have a valid reason for the transfer, because the company did not have the right to transfer this amount, received per its contract to build police station buildings throughout the country, to other companies.

The firm also used expenses incurred from other projects unrelated to the scandalous construction of police stations as documents to repeatedly transfer the money to its subsidiary company’s account.

The Government Savings Bank has asked the DSI to prosecute PCC Development and Construction on fraudulent charges, using hake documents to withdraw money from the bank.
