HRH Princess Sirivannavari honored by FEI for equestrian leadership

During a visit to the FEI headquarters in Lausanne, Princess Sirivannavari received recognition for her contributions to Thailand’s equestrian success and horse welfare.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya visited the headquarters of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) in Lausanne on May 29, 2026, where she was received by FEI Secretary General Sabrina Ibáñez and senior executives of the organization. During the visit, Her Royal Highness observed FEI operations and exchanged insights on the development of equestrian sport, demonstrating her commitment to advancing equestrian excellence and sustainable horse welfare in Thailand.



​Her Royal Highness reviewed training programs and initiatives supporting equine health, including advances in equine medicine, veterinary care, and horse hospital management. This knowledge is expected to support the ongoing development of Thailand’s equestrian sector and the Royal Stable Unit in accordance with international standards. Her Royal Highness emphasized the vital role of all professionals in equestrian sport, including riders, trainers, veterinarians, grooms, and farriers, whose combined efforts are essential to the welfare and performance of horses and athletes.

​On this occasion, the FEI Secretary General presented a recognition statement to Her Royal Highness, honoring her leadership in guiding the Thai national team to medal-winning success at the FEI Asian Championships in 2019 and 2025, as well as her significant contributions to advancing equestrian sport and horse welfare in Thailand. Her Royal Highness has participated in equestrian sport since childhood and currently competes in dressage. She has represented Thailand in several international competitions and has played a leading role in strengthening Thailand’s equestrian infrastructure through initiatives such as the Fürst Henry Indoor Riding Arena and the Royal Stable Unit Equine Medical and Rehabilitation Service Center. She also established a retirement program for former sport and military horses to ensure their ongoing care and well-being in line with international animal welfare standards. (NNT)
