
PHUKET, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School in Mueang District, Phuket Province, on June 1, 2026, to officially open the Sri Sirindhorn Building, which is under her Royal Patronage. Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthaworn, senior provincial officials, military and police officers, government representatives, and members of the public. Natthayaporn Sewatanon, the school’s director, received Her Royal Highness upon arrival.
Her Royal Highness first paid tribute at the monument of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, by laying a floral wreath and offering incense and candles. She then proceeded to the Sri Sirindhorn Building, where school officials and advisors presented floral tributes. During the ceremony, former school director Montri Pornphon presented a commemorative publication, and the current director presented a donation for charitable purposes. Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission Pichet Phophakdee outlined the event’s objectives. Her Royal Highness also presented commemorative gifts to 150 benefactors who have supported the school.
Her Royal Highness officially inaugurated the building by unveiling the commemorative plaque and planting a Sirindhorn Champi tree. She then toured an academic exhibition featuring students’ integrated learning projects across eight subject areas and wrote the Chinese name of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn at the foreign languages exhibition. Before departing, Her Royal Highness signed the institution’s guestbook, attended a student choir performance, and met with administrators from Yaowawit School and Phuket Vocational College, who introduced students to report on their academic progress.
