
SONGKHLA, Thailand – His Majesty the King graciously designated Air Chief Marshal Ittisak Srisang, together with the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation Under Royal Patronage, to deliver royal relief packages to flood-affected residents at the temporary shelter located at Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla Province.
Air Chief Marshal Ittisak, as His Majesty’s Representative, presented the royal relief items to those affected by severe flooding in Songkhla. A total of 23 types of essential supplies, amounting to 2,000 sets, were distributed to support and encourage evacuees staying at the temporary shelter in Hat Yai District.
Songkhla Governor Ratthasart Chidchoo, President of Prince of Songkla University, Associate Professor Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, royal volunteers, and community representatives welcomed the delegation. Their presence reflected the profound gratitude and deep appreciation felt by the local community for His Majesty’s benevolence.
Songkhla Province recently experienced prolonged heavy rainfall caused by a monsoon trough combined with a strong northeast monsoon, resulting in widespread flooding and storm impacts. As of November 28, all 16 districts remained affected, with 1,316,242 people impacted, 40,538 evacuees, and 123 fatalities. While overall conditions have begun to improve, approximately 40% of the province continues to face rainfall, including isolated heavy showers, requiring continuous 24-hour monitoring in high-risk areas.
The royal relief packages include essential food and household items, as well as recovery kits containing cleaning supplies and other necessities. Distribution will continue to shelters across Songkhla from November 30 to December 1, 2025.
The royal assistance provides vital support and encouragement to the people of Songkhla and stands as a testament to His Majesty’s enduring benevolence toward the Thai people. (NNT)
