Government sends message assuring would-be visitors to Thailand of safety

BANGKOK, 24 August 2015 – The government is sending a message assuring those who plan to travel to Thailand of Thai authorities’ commitment to tourist safety.

Government spokesperson Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd revealed that the message from Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha called on Thais and the international community to rest assured that authorities were in control of the situation after the bombing incident at Ratchaprasong Intersection in Bangkok. The number of uniformed and plainclothes security officials conducting patrols have been bolstered, to ensure safety for the public. Authorities have also been tending to the victims of the bombing attack and working to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice.

Maj. Gen. Sansern indicated the message called on those planning to travel to Thailand to rest assured they will be safe during the period of their stay and will be able to experience the unchanged goodwill and friendliness of the Thai people.
