BANGKOK, Thailand – Police arrested actress and former Miss Thailand Panadda Wongphudee on Friday over allegations of charity fraud and money laundering following searches across four locations in the capital and neighboring provinces.

Officers from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) executed an arrest warrant at around 6:00 a.m. local time outside Panadda’s residence, where she was reportedly preparing to address reporters. Her husband, Atip Anantawan, later turned himself in to police headquarters.

Police said Panadda, founder of the Good Deeds Organization, faces three charges: public fraud, money laundering, and uploading false information into a computer system. Atip faces conspiracy to commit money laundering charges.

Investigators carried out search warrants at four target locations, including Panadda’s residence and the foundation’s headquarters in Pathum Thani province, seizing evidence for examination at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). Police officials said investigators plan to present the suspects before the Criminal Court on Saturday to request their initial detention, with prosecutors expected to object to bail. A formal press conference by CIB leadership is scheduled for Saturday morning. (TNA)
