BANGKOK, Thailand – The Transport Co. (BKS) has temporarily suspended 13 routes operated by private van and minibus companies after flooding left several roads impassable, particularly on routes serving eastern Thailand. The affected services include routes from Bangkok’s Ekkamai and Chatuchak terminals to Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri, Lopburi and Nakhon Ratchasima.
The suspended routes are:
▪ Route 46: Ekkamai–Rayong
▪ Route 56: Ekkamai–Phanom Sarakham
▪ Route 914: Ekkamai–Chanthaburi
▪ Route 917: Ekkamai–Laem Ngop
▪ Route 9916: Ekkamai–Kabin Buri–Rong Kluea Market
▪ Route 12: Chatuchak–Lopburi
▪ Route 21: Chatuchak–Nakhon Ratchasima
▪ Route 35: Chatuchak–Map Ta Phut–Rayong
▪ Route 915: Chatuchak–Ban Khai–Laem Mae Phim
▪ Route 921: Chatuchak–Ongkharak–Rong Kluea Market
▪ Route 9907: Chatuchak–Chanthaburi
▪ Route 9908: Chatuchak–Trat
▪ Route 9920: Chatuchak–Ban Sang–Prachin Buri
BKS said it has instructed operators to continue monitoring conditions and assess route safety before resuming services. The company is also coordinating with relevant agencies and operators while monitoring flooding and traffic conditions across its network. Any changes to services will be announced to passengers. BKS said passenger safety remains the priority and that services will be adjusted according to conditions to reduce disruption to the public. (TNA)
