BANGKOK, Thailand – A fire broke out at a high-rise condominium over 50 floors in the Pinklao area, originating on the 33rd floor on October 9. Residents fled in panic as the condo management rushed to evacuate everyone.

At 2:03 p.m., the building’s management contacted the Bangkok Radio Center via hotline 199, reporting a fire inside one of the units on the 33rd floor. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the floor and emerging outside the building. Condo staff immediately began evacuating residents to the ground level.

When authorities reached the scene, some residents had already evacuated to the garden in front of the building. Many were exhausted and frightened, mostly from the 20th floor. One person suffered smoke inhalation and was being treated, with some sent to a hospital.

The Bangkok Radio Center reported that the fire is now under control. Teams are conducting a thorough search of all floors to evacuate anyone who may still be inside. (TNA)
