PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN– Employers in the province are urged to bring their migrant workforce in the fisheries industry for registration within the deadline on 30 January 2016.
Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Employment Official Arom Wajarat has revealed that the registration center for migrant workers will be providing registration services to labourers from neighbouring countries every Wednesday and Thursday, with a constant flow employers bringing in their employees for registration.
The total number of registered workers in the fisheries industry is now at about 1,200 persons, while it is expected that this number will increase by 500-600 more before the 30 January deadline approaches. Employers have shown more confidence in extending migrant workers’ employment after returning from the New Year holidays.
The officials are now urging employers to sign their employees up for proper registration to avoid being prosecuted by law. The registration period of workers in seafood processing is expected to be concluded on 22 February 2016.
