BANGKOK, 27 December 2013 – Election registration resumes on its third and final day on Friday morning as the situation at the Thai-Japan Bangkok Youth Center is back to normal with no protesters around the venue.

This morning, six more parties have been listed for the general election scheduled for February 2, 2014. Yesterday’s clashes between anti-government protesters and police guarding the venue left at least one death and 143 injuries while both government and private vehicles and other assets were vandalized.

The situation is calm Friday morning, with no protesters in sight. However, the venue is still heavily guarded. Meanwhile, in the inner Bangkok, anti-government rally is still going on. Suthep Thaugsuban, leader of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee confirmed to his audience last night the general election must be derailed.
