NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Thailand – Minister of Education Prasert Jantararuangtong led a regional workshop in Nakhon Ratchasima to support school board members in raising educational standards in the northeastern region. On September 6, the Minister opened the “Power of School Boards to Elevate Thai Schools in All Regions” workshop at Terminal 21 Korat, joined by Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Anupong Suksomnit, educational executives, ministry staff, and students. The initiative underscores the essential role of school boards in connecting schools, parents, communities, and partner networks to advance educational development.
The Minister emphasized that advancing Thai education requires collective responsibility. He stated that the ministry’s five core policies—returning time to teachers, reducing inequality, aligning learning with real-world applications, ensuring school safety, and adapting to new educational legislation—depend on effective local implementation. He encouraged educational personnel to act professionally, use data-driven decision-making, and set measurable goals focused on student outcomes.
During the event, participants worked together to turn the five core policies into actionable strategies through station-based activities. This process resulted in individual School Action Plans and School Risk Maps, which school administrators must finalize within 30 days. The Ministry of Education is also advancing digital transformation initiatives to use centralized databases for administrative management, monitor student progress, and improve the quality of Thai education.
