BANGKOK, Thailand – The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) led a multi-agency operation on Thursday to search three targets in Bangkok connected to an Israeli business network suspected of operating illegal nominee businesses and real estate holdings. The three targeted sites were the Chabad of Thailand Foundation on Phra Athit Road, an office on Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road, and the construction site of the Chabad House building in Sukhumvit Soi 22.
Investigators said the searches aimed to gather financial records and corporate documents as part of a wider crackdown on foreign networks using Thai nationals as nominees to circumvent business and property ownership laws across key tourist locations, including Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Justice Minister Rutthaphol Naowarat is scheduled to lead a press conference with relevant agencies at the Ministry of Justice on Thursday afternoon to present the initial findings.
