Sri Lanna National Park is extending a unique invitation to nature enthusiasts: an overnight camping experience atop Doi Monlan, a relatively undiscovered mountaintop in Chiang Mai’s Prao district.

Park officials have announced the availability of 105 camping spots on Doi Monlan, standing at 1,695 meters. Despite its beauty, the destination remains less known among tourists, particularly campers, offering a more secluded and tranquil experience.

The camping area can accommodate up to 315 tourists nightly, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the area’s natural splendor. Campers at Doi Monlan are promised stunning views of the sea of mist that envelopes both Chiang Mai and the adjacent Chiang Rai province, along with a lush, green panorama of the surrounding mountains, including the famed Doi Chiang Dao.

The temperatures at the summit have been pleasantly cool, dropping below 10 degrees Celsius since the start of December, adding to the allure of this camping experience.

Doi Monlan is accessible via a 90 km drive from the province’s capital district on road No. 1001 or the Chiang Mai-Prao road. (NNT)
