The dense clouds that covered and darkened Bangkok yesterday (Mon Aug 29) morning were the ‘global warming clouds’ which showed the era of extreme weather already began, according to environmental expert Thon Thamrongnawasawat.

Dr. Thon wrote in his Facebook page that the dark clouds which turned Bangkok’s morning sky into a virtually night atmosphere resulted from the global warming which caused the excessive vaporization of seawater and consequently the clouds that gathered considerable rainwater.

Fortunately winds blew away the dense clouds but they could recur in the future because they resulted from the extreme weather that already started due to the long-standing and continuous emissions of greenhouse gases. Their impacts including natural disasters would be severe, Dr. Thon wrote.

Thailand was facing vast flooding in many areas. Deluges from the North were incoming and runoffs closed some tourist destinations, he wrote.
They were the examples of the extreme weather and would recur and gradually worsen, according to Dr. Thon. (TNA)
