Heart patient could not be saved after pickup truck blocks ambulance at Plai Phraya hospital.

KRABI, Thailand – A shocking incident at Plai Phraya Hospital has once again highlighted how thoughtless actions and poor public awareness can turn emergency care into a race against time—sometimes with fatal consequences. On the night of October 16, hospital staff struggled to transfer a critical heart patient to a hospital in Krabi, only to be blocked by a brown Toyota pickup truck belonging to another patient’s family.

According to hospital statements, the truck was parked directly behind the ambulance, preventing staff from loading the patient. Staff attempted to get the vehicle moved, but the driver and accompanying family member refused, arguing over perceived neglect of their relative, who was suffering only from mild dizziness. Meanwhile, another family member of the heart patient knelt and pleaded for the truck to be moved so the critically ill patient could be transferred—but the delay proved fatal.

Though the truck was eventually moved, the heart patient could not be saved. The elderly passenger with the pickup was later cleared of serious illness and sent home. The incident has sparked outrage online, with many criticizing the blatant disregard for emergency procedures and the risks posed to public safety by such selfish acts.

Desperate pleas ignored as family argues, critical patient loses precious minutes, sparking public outrage over reckless parking and disregard for emergency protocols.

Experts warn that incidents like this expose deeper societal issues: a lack of respect for emergency protocols, poor crisis awareness, and a growing culture of confrontation in everyday situations. Hospitals and authorities are urging citizens to prioritize safety over personal grievances, stressing that seconds matter when lives are at stake.

Thailand has seen similar tragedies where ordinary negligence or impatience can have deadly consequences. This event serves as a stark reminder that civic responsibility and empathy are not optional—they can be the difference between life and death.
