Chao Phraya Express boats cut fares as fuel prices fall

Chao Phraya Express Boat will reduce fares by 1 baht across all routes from June 20 after diesel prices fell, with further cuts possible if fuel costs continue to decline.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Chao Phraya Express Boat Co., Ltd. has announced it will reduce fares on all of its passenger boat services by 1 baht beginning June 20 following a decline in diesel prices to 40.80 baht per liter. The company operates services along the Chao Phraya River between Pak Kret Pier and Wat Ratchasingkhon Pier. Under the new rates, the Orange Flag route between Nonthaburi and Wat Ratchasingkhon will cost 18 baht, down from 19 baht, while the Yellow Flag route between Nonthaburi and Sathorn will cost 23 baht, down from 24 baht.



Fares on the Green-Yellow Flag routes will also be lowered, with the Pak Kret-Nonthaburi service decreasing to 16 baht from 17 baht, the Nonthaburi-Sathorn route to 23 baht from 24 baht, and the Pak Kret-Sathorn route to 35 baht from 36 baht. The air-conditioned Red Flag service between Nonthaburi and Sathorn will cost 32 baht, down from 33 baht. The company said it will consider additional fare reductions if diesel prices decline further. (NNT)
