The Government Spokesperson, Chai Wacharonke, has conveyed the government’s concern for public safety during the upcoming year-end festivities and the extended holiday period from December 29th, 2023, to January 1st, 2024. As many citizens plan to travel to various provinces during this time, special attention is urged regarding electrical safety within homes.

To ensure the secure use of electricity during the prolonged holiday, individuals closing their residences or businesses for travel or vacation are advised to thoroughly inspect their electrical systems before departure. This precautionary measure aims to prevent potential electrical hazards that may arise. If possible, it is recommended to unplug electrical devices, excluding security equipment or automated lighting systems.

Simultaneously, the spokesperson emphasized the current dry and winter weather conditions prevailing in Thailand, characterized by dry and windy weather patterns. These conditions may contribute to forest fires, wildfires, or instances of falling trees and power lines, posing threats to property and, potentially, human life. Consequently, ensuring the safety of citizens nationwide is of paramount importance.

In the interest of safety and prevention, all citizens are urged to collaboratively inspect and adhere to safety measures provided by relevant government agencies. In the event of emergencies or distress due to public disasters, individuals can report incidents and request assistance through the emergency hotline “1784.” Furthermore, for real-time updates and support, citizens are encouraged to add the Line ID @1784DDPM on the Line application.
