LONDON, UK – Denza, the premium vehicle brand under BYD, is set to officially unveil its first two-door electric sports car, the Denza Z, on the global stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom on July 9. The Denza Z will be among China’s high-performance electric vehicles showcased at the international event. The concept version was first introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2025, followed by the production model’s appearance at the Beijing Auto Show in 2026.
Denza previously announced that Europe will become the first market for the Denza Z, with a launch in China to follow later. The company has already submitted approval documents to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), a key step before commercial sales begin.
According to MIIT information, the Denza Z will be offered in three versions:
- A fixed-roof coupe
- A convertible with a fabric roof
- A high-performance version designed for track-focused driving
The electric sports car measures between 4,780 and 4,870 millimetres in length depending on the version and rear spoiler configuration. It is 1,990mm wide, 1,330–1,350mm tall, and has a 2,780mm wheelbase. All versions feature four seats and weigh between 2,220 and 2,290 kilograms.
The Denza Z’s biggest performance feature is its three-motor electric drivetrain, producing a combined output of 1,180kW, equivalent to around 1,582 horsepower.
The system includes:
- Front motor producing 500kW
- Left rear motor producing 340kW
- Right rear motor producing 340kW
Denza claims the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than two seconds.
The coupe and convertible versions have a top speed of 300km/h, while the performance version can reach 350km/h, with development focused on high-speed handling and track performance.
The Denza Z is also the first sports car built on BYD’s e3 platform, which allows independent control of all three electric motors.
It features BYD-developed Steer-by-Wire technology, replacing the traditional mechanical connection between the steering wheel and front wheels with electronic controls.
The vehicle is also equipped with DiSus-M, BYD’s intelligent electromagnetic suspension system, which can respond in less than 10 milliseconds to improve stability and handling.
Other technology highlights include:
- BYD Blade Battery using LFP technology
- Carbon fibre roof as standard equipment
Denza has also revealed plans to test the Denza Z at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, with performance results expected to be announced later. The launch of the Denza Z marks a major step for Denza as it expands beyond luxury and family vehicles into the global high-performance sports car market. Following its debut, the model is expected to compete with premium performance vehicles such as the Porsche 911 and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra.
