KANCHANABURI, Thailand – A devastating car accident in Kanchanaburi claimed the lives of a father, mother, and one of their children, while two other children are critically injured. The family had just returned from a birthday celebration when their pickup truck’s tire exploded, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a utility pole.
The tragic incident occurred on the Uthong-Kanchanaburi Road, heading toward Nong Khaw Subdistrict, Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders found the pickup truck badly damaged. The right rear tire had burst, causing the vehicle to veer off course and slam into a high-voltage electricity pole at the side of the road.
Five people were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the victims. The driver, Natthawut, aged 29, was found dead in the driver’s seat. His wife, Supansa, was also confirmed dead, with their one-year-old daughter, Haru, in her arms, suffering severe injuries. Two other children, Mark, aged 9, and Max, aged 11, were found in the rear cabin, both critically injured.
Max tragically passed away despite efforts to perform CPR for over 10 minutes. Mark remains in critical condition and was rushed to the hospital. The family had been celebrating Natthawut’s birthday at a local restaurant in Kanchanaburi before the tragic accident occurred as they were returning home.
