
BANGKOK, Thailand – Chalermprakiat Park 80th Anniversary of His Majesty the King (Sathorn) has now reopened after a major renovation.
The improvements include expanded paths, green walkways, new lawns, and aquatic plants—creating more shade and more space for recreation and activities.
Highlights:
– Walkway over the lake;
– Nature study trail;
– Therapeutic garden;
– Children’s playground;
– Walking / jogging path;
– Outdoor stage.
Opening hours are from 05.00 to 21.00 hr.
To travel to the park, take the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT), get off at Lumphini Station (Exit 1), and walk along Rama IV Road to Soi Ngam Duphli; when you get there, walk about five minutes and the park is on your right.
Covering approximately 17 rai (about 6.7 acres), the park offers a shady and tranquil environment filled with trees. The refreshing landscape is also located near the Kukrit Pramoj Institute, which preserves the works of Professor (Special) Maj. Gen. M.R. Kukrit Pramoj, a former prime minister, who was a famous author and scholar. He also appeared in the 1963 movie “The Ugly American” with Marlon Brando. (NNT)
