BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok traffic police have deployed officers, tow trucks and support equipment to help residents affected by flooding, clear blocked roads and ease traffic congestion across the capital. The operation was ordered on September 26 by Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, with traffic officers sent to affected areas to assist residents, manage traffic and maintain public safety.
Officers are helping motorists affected by flooding and moving vehicles that have been damaged by floodwater or left blocking roads. The operation aims to reopen traffic lanes, reduce congestion and restore normal traffic conditions as quickly as possible.
Traffic police are also coordinating with relevant agencies to manage traffic flows and clear affected routes. The Metropolitan Police Bureau said it is prepared to deploy additional personnel and equipment as needed, with officers maintaining a close presence in flood-affected areas to assist residents and protect public safety. People requiring emergency assistance can call 191, while traffic-related assistance is available around the clock through the Traffic Control and Command Centre hotline 1197.
