BANGKOK, Thailand – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is providing free microchipping, registration, and rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats on the first weekend of each month in 2026 to support pet owners and improve animal management.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt visited a service point at ICONSIAM in Khlong San District, where the program is implemented in partnership with private organizations.

The Governor noted that although regulations requiring pet registration and microchipping have been postponed until next year, pet owners are encouraged to use the free services now. Microchipping makes it easier to locate lost pets and helps control stray animal populations.

The BMA also provides mobile services in communities upon request through the Traffy Fondue platform.

Deputy Governor Tavida Kamolvej added that additional service points are available at Central Rama 3 and ten BMA veterinary clinics, with outreach teams serving communities.

The “ICONSIAM PETS CARE” campaign offers microchipping, rabies vaccination, and pet registration, as well as educational exhibits and pet product booths. Each day, up to 100 microchipping services and 200 vaccinations are available.

Services are available at ICONSIAM, Level B1, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month in 2026. (NNT)
