Suvarnabhumi Airport is working with Thai Airways to ease flight delays and long baggage waits caused by flooding and equipment problems.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Suvarnabhumi Airport is working with Thai Airways International to resolve ground handling staff shortages that have delayed some departures and increased baggage wait times for arriving passengers. The disruption began on September 26, 2026, and continued into September 27. Flooding in several areas prevented some Thai Airways ground handling staff from reporting for duty, reducing staffing levels.

Mechanical issues with some Thai Airways baggage carts have further slowed ground operations for both departures and arrivals. As a result, some flights have been delayed, baggage collection times have increased, and luggage from multiple flights remains unclaimed. Suvarnabhumi Airport has asked Thai Airways to promptly increase ground handling staff, repair baggage carts, and provide replacement equipment to speed up baggage handling.

Airport authorities are providing ongoing updates via information screens and announcements in baggage claim areas. Additional staff have been deployed to assist and inform passengers. Passengers who have not received their baggage may file a delayed baggage report with Thai Airways and contact the Lost and Found service at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

For international flights, call 02-134-5453 to 55. For domestic flights, call 02-134-5473 to 74. The THAI Contact Center is available at 02-356-1111. Suvarnabhumi Airport will continue to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with Thai Airways to restore normal service as soon as possible. (NNT)
