H.E. Mr. Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, led members of the diplomatic corps in Bangkok from ASEAN countries, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, to visit the Fabric & Textiles Creative Design Center (FTCDC) at Udon Thani Rajabhat University and the Ban Non Kok Ancient Weaving Learning Center in Udon Thani province on 21 April 2024.

In this occasion, the delegation learned about ways to preserve the local wisdom on how to dye fabrics and traditional weaving techniques, as well as to elevate community artisanship to an international level. This could be achieved through an integration of product, technical skill, and craftsmanship development, in parallel with innovation, technology and creativity, to keep the products modern and for Thai handicrafts to have unique characters in a sustainable manner.
