Anutin leads 72nd Volunteer Defense Corps Day, calls for modern and globally aware service

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, serving as Commander of the Volunteer Defense Corps, presided over the 72nd Volunteer Defense Corps Day tribute ceremony on February 10, 2026, at the Institute of Administration Development in Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. The ceremony was attended by senior Ministry of Interior officials, provincial governors, government officials, staff, and more than 500 Volunteer Defense Corps personnel.



After the tribute, the Commander led an oath-taking ceremony before the Corps flag. Personnel reaffirmed their commitment to defend the Kingdom, maintain national peace and security, uphold discipline and moral conduct, and ensure the well-being and safety of the Thai people.

The Commander also congratulated recipients of the Volunteer Defense Corps Distinguished Service Insignia, commemorative pins, outstanding unit awards, standard company recognition, and exemplary service honors. He thanked all for their ongoing support in strengthening and advancing the Corps’ mission.


He called on all personnel to uphold the guiding principle of working in a manner that is “globally aware, modern, and timely” to continue relieving hardship, promoting public welfare, and preserving Thailand’s principal institutions: the Nation, Religion, the Monarchy, and the People for lasting stability.
