BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, discussed the Entertainment Complex Bill, stating that while it aligns with government policy under the Prime Minister’s push, it must follow full legal and parliamentary procedures. These include Cabinet endorsement, House debates, committee reviews, and possible amendments.
He emphasized the importance of listening to public opinion and proposed holding a national referendum to gauge citizens’ views, as the initiative could stimulate the economy, create jobs, and generate national revenue. Bhumjaithai Party fully supports this approach and had previously proposed it to the Prime Minister, who was open to the idea.
Minister Anutin stressed that success depends on unity among all coalition parties. If any party imposes conditions or refuses to vote in line, the process will be considered incomplete.
The Bhumjaithai Party leader insisted the coalition must act as one; otherwise, the bill should not move forward in Parliament. (NNT)
