BANGKOK, 18 September 2015 – 10 roads in six provinces have been damaged by tropical storm Vamco–two of which heavily flooded. Less rain has been expected to fall from Saturday onwards.

Director-General of the Department of Highway Chusak Kewi said eight of the 10 roads were still passable but the rest two were completely impassable. The two roads are Highway 364, the city bypass in Rayong province and Highway 401 in Phang Nga. The water levels on the roads are 80-90 centimeters.

The eight roads are in the five provinces affected by the tropical storm, including Tak, Chon Buri, Rayong, Ranong and Satun.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that widespread rain and isolated heavy rain are expected in the North, Central and East on 18 September 2015. The influence of the storm will likely end today.
