PHANG NGA, Thailand – The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation has announced the closure of tourism activities at the Similan Islands and Surin Islands in Phang Nga Province for a period of 5 months, from 16 May to 14 October 2025.
This closure is an ongoing annual measure to maintain the balance of the marine ecosystem, reduce the impact of tourism activities, and allow nature to recover, as well as preventing damage from inclement weather conditions during the monsoon season.
In addition, the Department of National Parks has designated Similan Islands National Park as one of six national parks that will use the e-ticket system.
Therefore, from 15 October 2025, which is the date of reopening, Thai and international tourists may purchase tickets via the e-ticket system by filling in the required details. Visitors can purchase tickets via the e-ticket system either in advance or on the day of travel before 8:00 a.m. (08.00 hr). (PRD)
