Arum Chaisomsri and Arwuth Tiampakdee (5th and 3rd from right respectively) represented Dusit Thani Pattaya in donating items that are useful in making Braille paper for the visually-impaired children at the School for the Blind in Pattaya. On the same day, the hotel also brought bottle tops that it collected and will be useful in making artificial legs for the physically-disabled kids at the Father Ray Foundation. The visits are part of the hotel’s on-going CSR initiatives in the Pattaya community as well as in upcountry areas that include charity work for the underprivileged school children, temple restoration and facilities for hospitals.

Chatchawal Supachayanont (5th left) GM of the Dusit Thani Pattaya is joined by hotel management in celebrating with the F&B staff who brought home awards from the 2013 Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge held at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center. The winners are seen proudly holding up their certificates and medals (left to right): Sununsiri Kamto - Commis II (Bronze Medal for Individual Western Plated Dessert); Juthaporn Dawsawa - Commis II (Gold Medal for Fruit and/or Vegetable Carving) and Khanatsanan Wangsa - Commis I (Bronze Medal for Petits Fours/Pralines). The event was organized by the Thailand Chefs Association and participated in by almost 500 competitors from Thailand, Cambodia, Israel, Myanmar, Taiwan and Turkey.

Dusit Thani Pattaya marked World No Tobacco Day My 31, a yearly activity aimed at raising awareness among staff and management of the importance of a tobacco-free lifestyle. Hotel management joined the staff in distributing anti-smoking leaflets and creating banners to spread the message that smoking is dangerous to health, and advertising tools promoting the habit must be banned. Staff members who have successfully quit the habit were also commended with a Certificate of Recognition and offered many other ways to live a healthy life such as riding a bicycle and engaging in any sport activity.
