SATTAHIP, Thailand – Police from Provincial Police Region 2, Chonburi Provincial Police and Sattahip Police arrested 14 people during a raid on an alleged illegal gambling den in Bang Saray, Sattahip district, on October 12. The group comprised three men and 11 women, who were found playing pok cards and another card game inside a rented room, according to police.

The operation followed a tip-off that gambling was taking place at an unidentified rental property in Bang Saray. Investigators coordinated with local police to check the location before entering and detaining everyone inside. Officers collected evidence and took the 14 suspects to Sattahip Police Station for further questioning and legal proceedings.

The raid came three days after National Police Chief Pol Gen Samran Nualma issued a policy on October 9 calling for serious action against gambling dens, vice establishments and human trafficking. He also warned that local commanders could face urgent transfers if they were found to have neglected their responsibilities.

Police subsequently intensified investigations into suspected gambling operations in Chonburi amid information that some venues might be changing locations to evade inspection.

The case will proceed in accordance with the evidence and legal procedures.
