Monday, Sept. 17, Pattana – Stableford

1st Julian Thomas (20) 37pts

2nd Billy Allan (20) 35pts

3rd Robert Cannon (19) 35pts

With the King of the Mountain tour complete it was business as usual for our daily Pattaya competitions. Our first outing was at the pristine Pattana golf course where Julian Thomas continued the form which almost saw him win his first board event at the Hua Hin K.O.M tour. Undaunted by the difficulties of the Pattana layout, Julian successfully negotiated the course and scored an impressive 37 points to take the day’s honours.

Tuesday, Sept. 18, Green Valley – Stableford

1st John Goudge (7) 37pts

2nd Shigeki Toyoshima (17) 35pts

3rd Julian Thomas (20) 35pts

On Tuesday we were back to our regular outing at Green Valley, with the course in fantastic condition it was no surprise that the winning score was going to be in the high thirties. It was time for one of the Wanneroo contingent to step up to the plate and restore some pride to the boy’s from my home course in Western Australia.

John Goudge who is the past President, past Captain and past Club Champion of the W.G.C. showed he wasn’t past his prime, playing off a seven handicap, shooting three over of the stick and hitting almost every green in regulation he walked off the course with a brilliant score of 39 points.

Wednesday, Sept. 19, Greenwood – Stableford

1st Klaus Fast (3) 38pts

2nd Paul Burrows (10) 35pts

3rd Eddie Townsend (19) 35pts

Wednesday we made the trip to Greenwood, where for the third week running we were the only society on the course and as a consequence we were treated to millionaire’s golf. It’s clear that some courses are suffering with numbers but for the condition and value for money that Greenwood offers I’m amazed that more societies choose not to include it in their schedule.

With John Goudge having set the precedent yesterday, it was another Wanneroo boy Klaus Fast, who stepped up to the plate and shot a one over of the stick to post 38 points and claim the day’s top prize.

Thursday, Sept. 20, Phoenix Gold – Stableford

1st Julian Thomas (20) 41pts

2nd John Brewer (16) 38pts

3rd Garry Barker (3) 38pts

Phoenix course was playing host to the TRGG members on Thursday. Julian Thomas, who since the commencement of the Hua Hin tour had been playing second fiddle to the “Big Guns” such as Colin Smith, John Goudge and Klaus Fast, finally decided enough was enough and came out with all guns a blazing to shoot the best score of the week with a magnificent 41 points. The honours board eagerly awaits the day where Julian’s name will take pride of place.

Friday, Sept. 21, Burapha – Stableford

1st Shigeki Toyoshima (17) 36pts

2nd Klaus Fast (3) 35pts

3rd Andrew Rich (22) 33pts

Friday we made the short trip to Burapha to play A & B courses. Obviously a favourite course for today’s winner who went one better than last week’s thirty five points to score 36 points and pick up back to back wins for the two consecutive Friday’s. Shigeki Toyoshima has been honing his skills since joining the TRGG in 2009. If there was an award for the most improved and consistent golfer then it would have Toyo’s name all over it.

Saturday, Sept. 22, Parichat – Stableford

1st Tauchi Hiraoki (13) 40pts

2nd John Brewer (15) 36pts

3rd Klaus Fast (3) 34pts

We finished this week’s rounds of golf at Parichat, it’s not everybody’s favourite course but it’s one that requires a lot of course management to have any chance of posting a decent score. Hiraoki Tauchi certainly did that today with sixteen points on the front nine and an incredible twenty four points on the back nine he blitzed the rest of the field with 40 points and his first TRGG win.
