NAGOYA, Japan – The 20th Asian Games, currently taking place in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026, the Thai national team is poised to make a striking impression on the world stage by elevating athletic attire into the realm of contemporary high fashion.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, Creative Director of SIRIVANNAVARI, has designed the official ceremonial uniforms for Thailand’s national athletes under the concept “The Art of Unity.” These uniforms were worn at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Asian Games. Designed for more than 900 athletes and team officials, the ensemble presents a distinct Thai identity that will shine brilliantly and stylishly at this prestigious Asian sporting event.
The ceremonial ensemble comprises four key pieces: a three-pocket jacket made of handwoven cotton; a white shirt featuring embroidery on the front panel reflecting Thai and Japanese cultural elements; trousers in the same color as the jacket; and a necktie tied in SIRIVANNAVARI’s signature Diamond Knot.
The essence of these uniforms lies in their blend ofcontemporary fashion and local wisdom in Thai textiles. They incorporate handwoven indigo-dyed cotton from the Sustainable Village Project – under Her Royal Highness’s royal initiative in Sakon Nakhon Province – as well as handwoven cotton from the SUPPORT Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The collection proves that when heritage, local craftsmanship, and high fashion converge, the result is tangible national pride.
