PSC golf from the Café Kronborg

Monday, July 2, Bangpra – Stableford

Bangpra was the venue on Monday for our stableford game.  We had an on-time departure and a 45 minute transit to the course.  After check-in and heading for the first tee it was discovered many golfers were waiting on the first tee, but we finally managed to tee off on time.

When we had played a few holes it was evident that most white teeing grounds were closed and the markers moved to the blues making an estimated length of the course after finishing of about 6800 yards.  The course was in its usual fine condition with the resident monkeys patrolling around the sixth and seventh fairways.

Back in the clubhouse after a round of 4 hours and 30 minutes we welcomed Pattaya resident and Dane Benny Hansen.

The oldest man in the field 82 year old world traveller Hugh O’Donnell, who hits the ball 250 yards, was the winner with a fine 35 points.  Mashi Kaneta took second on a count back from Mike Winfield third, both on 32 points, with Dave Richaedson in fourth on 27.

1st Hugh O’Donnell (26) 35pts

2nd Mashi Kaneta (11) 32pts

3rd Mike Winfield (23) 32points

4th Dave Richardson (27) 27pts

Thursday, July 5, Treasure Hill – Stableford

The Treasure Hill Golf and Country Club was the host for a stableford event on Thursday.  Departing on time and up the 331 we arrived 55 minutes later for a swift check-in and a tee off 23 minutes early for the first group.

The course was in fine condition and should remain so for the members open on the 20th of July.  The weather was fine but a bit overcast with a brief shower just past the turn but it did not hold up play.  The first group finished in 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Back in the clubhouse we welcomed Pattaya resident Marty Allred, Gerard Wallis from Bangladesh via Aussie, Prem Chard from Dubai via Aussie, Brian Satterup from Greenland and the trio of Peter Fagerlund, Christer Hedberg and Per Svenson all hailing from Sweden.

We had 2 flights today with the cut at handicap 17 and Prem Chard took the A Flight with 37 points.  Marty Allred came in second on a count back from Per Svensen third, both with 32 points.

Dave Richardson was first in the B Flight with 32 points, Peter Fagerlund second on 31 points and Jean Morel third with 28.
