The Pattaya Banglamung Basketball Club was crowned the area’s top hoops team for the second consecutive year when the Loma Warriors won the Loma Basketball Tournament 2018.

Former Thai Hotels Association Eastern Region President Sanphet Suphabuansathien – who actually coached the losing team in the March 12 tourney – handed over the trophy to Warriors coach Pathorn Sakornpanich after his Luk Mod Dam team lost the final 63-57 at the Eastern National Indoor Sports Stadium.

Chompu Pantip finished third, beating fourth-place finisher Patcharapong Rachanavee in the consolation game.  Akarawin Suphabuansathien of the Loma Warriors was named the tournament’s outstanding player.

The Warriors led the final throughout the game, although Luk Mod Dam made it competitive.  The Loma team was up 13-8 after the first 10-minute quarter and 28-25 at the half thanks to sold defense.  The lead remained slim, 44-42, after the third quarter, but the Warriors got it up to six with some pinpoint shooting by the time the buzzer sounded.
