The Travellers Rest Golf Group

The wealthy members of the TRGG headed off on tour this week to Hua Hin, leaving us poor lot at home to fight over the scraps.  The stay at homes had a couple of friendly games of golf amongst themselves but all unofficial.

The tourists I am sure had a great time but I shall have to wait to hear all the gossip before I can post the juicy tit-bits.  They were however kind enough to post the results of their competitions.

Tuesday, Sept. 24, Sea Pines G.C. – Stableford

On Tuesday the TRGG took on Sea Pine and only one point separated the first three.  Scott Wilshire took first place, managing to play to his handicap, while Rod Ewan just managed to pip Tom Kett on count back for second.

1st Scott Wilshire (15) 36pts

2nd Rod Ewan (12) 35pts

3rd Tom Kett (19) 35pts

Wednesday, Sept. 25, Banyan G.C – Stableford

It was off to Banyan on Wednesday and judging by the final scores our golfers found it tough going, although once again it was a very close finish.  Derek Thorogood got the better of David Booth on count back to win the day and Rod Ewan trooped into third place a couple of points behind.

1st Derek Thorogood (16) 32 pts

2nd David Booth (15) 32pts

3rd Rod Ewan (12) 30pts

Thursday, Sept. 26,Springfield G.C. – Stableford

On Thursday the tour drew to a close with a visit to Springfield (A & C courses).  Tom Kett rounded off a good week of golf by winning the competition rather easily. Coming in second and third were Fergus Brennan and David Booth respectively, both finishing on 32 pts and once again only being separated on count back.

1st Tom Kett (19) 37pts

2nd Fergus Brennan (13) 33pts

3rd David Booth (15) 33pts

Good luck to all you golfers for the coming week and if you would like to play a round of golf with the TRGG, please phone Fergus Brennan on 086 056 7019 or pop into the Ned Kelly Bar in Soi Lengkee and add your name to the weekly lists which are posted on the notice board.
