Monday, April 2, Crystal Bay – Stableford

We played the C and B courses today with two divisions out and the equal cut at 15-21 and 22+.  Neil Gamble, playing off 15, came in with 40 points to win division 1 while Paul Butler was second on 37 and Dennis Scougall third with 36.

Rick Assi topped the podium in division 2 with 38 points, Frank Grainger was second on 35 and Andres Van De Laan placed third with 33.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Neil Gamble (2) and Bob Poole, and (Div 2) David Phillips and Johnny Walsh.

There were no ‘2’s today.

Wednesday, April 4, Treasure Hill – Stableford

We had an almost identical cut today in the two divisions and played off the yellow tees.  It was a tough test of golf out there today with the greens very tough and over grown and there was no run whatsoever.

With a few manual handicap cuts the same two winners from Monday came in winning today again, but with lower scores.  Neil Gamble topped division 1 with 32 points, Bob Comartin was second with 29 and amazingly with 26 points Dennis Scougall took third.

Rick Assi won division 2 with 32 and four points behind in second place was Frank Grainger while Andres Van De Laan placed third with 25 points.

There were eight near pins today in two divisions but Paul Butler and Neil Gamble were the only winners in division 1 and Rick Assi the only winner in division 2.

Friday, April 6,

The forecast here today was not very promising but we all got round with no problems.  The greens were still very slick and 33 points was the best score recorded.

Mikael Andersson topped division 1 with that score while Dennis Scougall took second on 31, Brian Green was third on 29 and Paul Butler beat Marc Brunner on a 13/11 count-back for fourth after they both came in with 28 points.

Andres Van De Laan won division 2 with 30 points, while there was a warm welcome return for Joe Kubon and he finished second with 27.  In third place was Frank Kelly on 26 and the Welsh boy David Phillips took fourth with 24.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Mikael Andersson (2), Brian Green and Jerry Sweetnam, and (Div 2) Joe Kubon.
